Water-Repellent Coatings

Discover the water-repellent coatings

Our water-repellent coating has excellent adhesion properties; a reliable and robust water protection coating you can count on. This coating forms an impermeable film leaving nothing to reach the hardware components, so that they are completely protected. Easy to use, it has excellent flexibility, maintains its elasticity even at low temperatures, and helps to reduce costs and labour time on site. This durable coating is environmentally friendly and helps extend the life of materials.

WATER-REPELLENT PRODUCTS

Bronya Coatings offers water-repellent coatings for absorbent surfaces. We have our own production of innovative building materials which have the highest physical characteristics. For our customers, we are happy to offer the widest range of optimal products to solve various construction problems. We distinguish ourselves by the high quality of our products that are incomparable in their field and are sold all over the world, as well as by our really advantageous prices.

What are water repellents?

Water-repellent coatings are designed to protect various materials from the damaging effects of water. Water repellent is a liquid silicone composition that contains various additives (copolymers). Once they are applied to the surface, such substances (organosilicone) penetrate several millimeters deep and clog large capillaries, forming a film.

As a result, water droplets cannot seep inside and turn into ice crystals, causing microcracks to appear in the brick and concrete masonry.   Small capillaries do not need to be blocked, allowing the material to “breathe”, which is an additional benefit. The resulting film resists the formation of various microorganisms such as mold. It prevents mosses and lichens from appearing on the surface. When building facades are treated with this coating, resistance to low temperatures is increased, the appearance of repeated efflorescence is prevented, and dirt-protective properties are improved.

Benefits of a Water-Repellent Coating

In today’s market of waterproofing materials, many compositions are used for a wide variety of surfaces such as gypsum, wood, ceramic and stone to provide an ultra-thin thermal insulation performance, but also to increase their characteristics.

Advantages of a Water-Repellent Coating:

  1. Maintains the aesthetics of the building facade when used outdoors.
  2. Remains hydrophobic for several years.
  3. Increases resistance to corrosion, even in extremely low temperatures.
  4. Reinforces the structure of the treated material.
  5. Prevents the formation of efflorescence.
  6. Prevents the movement of liquid inside the porous material.
  7. Leaves the appearance of the surface unchanged.
  8. Easy to apply.
  9. Prevents the development of microorganisms.

The use of water-repellent silicone compounds protects materials from the destructive action of water, while maintaining the air exchange. Treatment with this composition is possible at various stages of construction and also after its completion. Water-repellent silicone plays a role in energy-saving solutions, since water repellents are used in the production of a popular insulation – mineral wool.

The Difference Between a Waterproofing Agent and Liquid Waterproofing Composition

The liquid waterproofing composition does not dissolve in water and has narrow pores. It is used to protect foundations from groundwater, and to protect walls, roofs and metal structures. Due to waterproofing, the liquid does not penetrate into impregnated surfaces or those treated with putty.

With hydrophobization, which dissolves in water, water is repelled from surfaces coated with the composition. The agent is used to saturate from the exterior or interior, and the thickness can reach 10 mm,  even when impregnating concrete. In this case, the most important property of the water repellent is the vapor permeability of the treated surfaces.

How to Use a Water-Repellant Coating

The water repellent is applied to the clean and dry material with a brush, a roller or by spray. To achieve high-quality protection against moisture, the product is applied until it ceases to be absorbed into the material being processed.

Once the first coat is applied, let the surface dry.  The next day, verify that if repels water. Before treating the facade with a water repellent, existing cracks should be filled with a construction mixture.

Paint can be applied over the water-repellent coating. Organo-soluble formulas are easy to apply, as are water-based dispersions. They have a good adhesion to surfaces and last longer. With the help of silicone water repellants, it is possible to restore the horizontal waterproofing in buildings with brick foundations by inserting them through screws into the masonry. When using a high-quality silicone compound, the restored waterproofing lasts for decades.

Our company offers a high-quality waterproofing product:  “Bronya” has excellent characteristics for waterproofing projects and the subsequent use of treated surfaces for a years to come.  We have acquired a wealth of experience in the development and production of innovative building materials, the quality of which is well appreciated by our customers all over Russia.
